Video: New Asimo robot is slimmer, smarter, and a bit hit with the ladies.
Honda recently split their robotics company into a separate division, and have shown off a new version of the Asimo humanoid robot which is lighter and capable of more complex tasks than his older brother.
In this video Asimo shows his new skill of voice recognition. Even though three people talk to him at the same time, he uses voice recognition to look at and reply to the most appropriate person.
Other new features include trajectory modelling to figure out where humans are heading to, allowing Asimo to turn to avoid a collision, along with a new top running speed of 9km per hour.
